Sneak Peek - Crisp Night Sky

Snow Scenes

We're back today with a third gorgeous Christmas and Winter season set that's really versatile.  Set the scene for Christmas and winter with this darling silhouette set illustrated by Lauren Pope. From an elegant deer enjoying the new fallen snow to a pair of children ready to bring their snowman to life, this set offers many mix-and-match options for you to create different "snow scenes!" Set measures 4" by 6".  Here's what I created with it:

I LOVE how this card came together.  It turned out exactly as I dreamed it in my head :)  I did have to try it twice to get it to work exactly as I wanted - and here's my tips.  I began by stamping the trees and deer first from Snow Scenes with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  Then I took some of my very favourite Eclipse Masking Tape and trimmed some hills into the paper at the angles I wanted, then sticking it under the deer and trees.  I started in the background and moved to the foreground.  Then I took my Ink Blending Tool and Memento Summer Sky Ink and lightly sponged behind the masks to create the feeling of hills under the treens and where the deer was standing.

Then to create the sky I kept the hill masks on and inked the blending tool with Memento Nautical Blue ink, then coming in from the corners and top added in much deeper ink colour to give it the look of a night sky.  It takes some good blending and then you can come back in with your lighter ink and soften the effect, and it matches perfectly with the Color Made Easy True Blue Cardstock.

To finish the night sky I added in the pretty stars from the set in White Craft ink, added a pretty sentiment label with some Color Made Easy True Blue Seambinding, a tiny black buttons and some iridescent string.  Doesn't it seem peaceful?  It was so fun to make!
