Garden Gate

It's no secret that you hear very positive and gushing things from me on a weekly basis about Flourishes.  But today's set...oh my.  There's just something so perfect about it that steals my heart.  I think you will love this last set Garden Gate from our April New Releases.  Marcella illustrated a perfect and welcoming garden scene, gorgeous climbing wild roses, and some beautiful sentiments that are so touching (and in such a great font too).  Ready???

Just look at these wild roses!  Sigh.  Wild roses are Alberta's Provincial flower, and you'll seem them growing wild all over in pretty pink shades, but because I was working with this gorgeous new 123 Create Kit called Stationary Noted, I went with much more bold red shades paired with blues and grays.  I love the artsy effect I was able to get - even with the gray tones in the leaves, not realistic - but perfect for the papers.  I stamped this spray of wild roses onto Flourishes Classic White with Memento Tuxedo Black, cutting out with Spellbinders Floral Ovals die.  After coloring with Copics, I used the die as template and sponged in Summer Sky Memento Ink with my Ink Blending Tool, then adding Flourishes Color Made Easy True Blue and Poppy Collections of card stock.

The rest is honestly this gorgeous kit.  That's what's so great about our kits, everything is coodinated for you with great ribbons, designer papers and embellishments.

So you can see the ribbon that I ruffled along the bottom and tied in a bow, the hat pin, the adhesive dots...all from the kit.  Here's a peek at it:

Such beautiful images. The wild prairie rose is also the state flower of North Dakota where I spent 10 formative years as a child. I love the red and the "artsy" gray leaves. Another work of art!
