So this is the card I made for them. I thought that the theme of growth would be especially fitting, so I pulled out this Stampavie image from All That Scraps because it has these two cuties watering the flower.
I wanted to make it very vibrant and girly, so I started with a color palette from Basic Grey's Lemonade DSP. I also received gorgeous new ribbon from Sharon's Stamp Simply store. This is amazing velvet Ric Rac, and it's SO luscious!
The image is colored with copics, (and actually after I took this picture I added a little YG 91 to the leaves and grass to give them a closer match to the Kiwi Kiss greens in the paper and ribbon).
I popped up the butterfly and then added the letters from my Billboard decorative strip from Sizzix. I also did a little treatment called the "dirty rag" on the center of the flower. To give copic coloring texture, you put a little blender solution on an old rag and dab onto the colored area, it pulls some of the color away and you get more of a textured look. Lastly I didn't like how the color came out on the smaller mouse, so I paper pieced her little dress, and I like it much better.
I used a ton of Copics, but here are some of the collections I know I used: Petunia (flower petals and dress details), Sunflower (dress and apron, and butterfly), Peony (dress, ears and cheeks), Spring Greens and Evergreen for the greenery (out of stock right now), and Sky (for the bird, hat details, watering can), warm greys for the bunny (W00, W2, W3) and E31 and E57 for the mouse and flower center.
